About Missy
At just 10 years old, Missy Schwartz Rodriguez underwent an experimental liver transplant — a moment that would change the course of her life forever. Now 52, Missy marks every anniversary of that lifesaving gift by pouring her heart into others.
A private college advisor based in Short Hills, NJ, Missy is uniquely positioned to inspire the next generation. She founded the Missy's Miracle Scholarship Fund 12 years ago — a true labor of love — and has built Missy's Miracle Clubs at Millburn High School and at her own alma mater, Montville Township High School. The mission extends to college campuses too, with awareness events at Indiana University through ZBT and the University of Arizona through AEPI.
Her passion has been recognized at every level — from the pages of Vicinity Magazine to the Prudential Center jumbotron, from the Transplant Games of America to the 2024 Rose Bowl Parade. But to Missy, the real miracle is simply the chance to give back.
"I'm so proud of the work I am doing, and I'm thrilled to know that I am making a difference in people's lives through organ and tissue donation advocacy."
